Aris Alexander
Aris Alexander is a Researcher at Fortune Magazine in New York, where he contributes to the annual Fortune 500, Europe 500, and Global 500 data collection and research processes. The work tracking the financial performance of the world’s largest companies helps surface the changes, trends, and anomalies that inform Fortune’s storytelling. From Russian banks to Japanese printing companies & Finnish forestry firms, compiling the figures behind the Fortune 500 means following the global economy in unexpected places. The list serves as a yearly timestamp of the business world—a tradition Fortune has maintained since 1955.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economic Theory and Mathematics from New York University, where he also studied English Literature. The 500 research process at Fortune has not yet been overcome by AI, and he remains interested in seeing how long that lasts. Hailing from Eastern Long Island, New York, he is pursuing graduate studies in Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Stony Brook University.
