With retired aircraft sitting in deserts, jungles, and storage yards, Singaporean startup Nandina REM specializes in recycling aircraft materials such as recovered carbon fiber to adapt and reuse in industrial applications. Along with repurposing aviation-grade aluminum panels for electric-vehicle battery casings, Nandina is researching how to develop car components from materials such as repurposed plastics. In February 2026, Nandina opened a recycled carbon-fiber facility at the Tai Seng Exchange, an industrial development in Singapore. The carbon-fiber facility will integrate custom-engineering production lines with advanced quality testing to create fiber for manufacturing applications in aerospace, defense, and energy.
