Titles included in this roundup: COOs (Chief Operating Officers), CFOs (Chief Financial Officers), and CTOs (Chief Technology Officers). We also include CEOs (Chief Executive Officers), Chief Information Officers (CIOs), CMOs (Chief Marketing Officers), CHROs (Chief Human Resources Officers), Chief People Officers, and Chief Customer Officers when there are Power Moves within the Fortune 500 announced pertaining to those roles.

Chemicals
- Ecolab (No. 274) updated current COO Darrell R. Brown’s title to co-COO–Global Markets. Brown has been COO since 2022 and has been with the company for 24 years, and as of April 1 he will share the COO title with Gregory B. Cook, whom Ecolab has appointed co-COO–Global Businesses. Cook has been with Ecolab for 28 years and has served as EVP and President–Institutional Group since 2023.
- Westlake (No. 345) announced that CFO M. Steven Bender will retire when the company finds a successor.
Food, beverages, and tobacco
- Hormel Foods (No. 352) has appointed Donald Monk as its first CTO, effective March 23. He was most recently SVP of president of strategy, governance, and transformation for Cargill’s digital technology and data organization. Before that, he was CIO at General Mills (No. 216) and in total spent 33 years with the company in various roles.
Manufacturing and production
- Nucor (No. 140) appointed John L. “Jack” Sullivan CFO, Treasurer, and EVP. Sullivan previously served as VP, Treasurer, and General Manager of Investor Relations at the company and succeeds Stephen D. Laxton, who will continue to serve as COO.
Retailing
- Chewy (No. 357) appointed Chris Deppe CFO. He most recently served as head of all corporate and commercial finance functions at Chewy. Prior to joining Chewy in 2022, he spent more than 16 years at Amazon in senior finance leadership roles. Deppe succeeded Will Billings, who was interim Principal Financial Officer since July 2025.
Telecommunications
- Charter Communications (No. 79) appointed Nick Jeffery COO, effective Sept. 1, 2026. Jeffery will join Charter from Frontier Communications (No. 583 on the Fortune 1000), where he has served as President and CEO since 2021. Charter has not had a COO since CEO Chris Winfrey was promoted to the chief executive role in 2022.
