The Senate will convene on Friday morning to vote on Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court.
It is widely expected that Gorsuch will be confirmed, after Republicans triggered the so-called “nuclear option.” Republicans were unable to gather the 60 votes needed to invoke cloture to end a Democratic filibuster. So they took the unprecedented move of altering Senate rules, allowing them to install him on the high court with a simple majority vote.
