“No time of day is specified, and you don’t need to worry about taking it specifically with or without food,” said Riley. This makes it easy for busy and working parents to give their kid vitamins any time of day, whether before or after work. Riley rated the instructions a 5 out of 5.

Sophia, a member of our testing team, tried Grüns Kids Superfood Gummies and said she loved the package design. “The bright yellow, red, and pink colors are really eye-catching, and it looks like something that would intrigue kids.”

The instructions said to take no more than one pack per day, which Sophia said was easy to follow. “The gummies come in little pouches, so each serving is already prepackaged,” she noted. You don’t have to count out individual gummies, she said, which is ideal for parents rushing out the door in the morning who can simply grab a package and tuck it in their child’s bookbag.
“I tried two flavors,” said Sophia, explaining, “The raspberry lemonade flavor was shaped like a lemon wedge and was purple. The strawberry flavor was shaped like a bear and was green. The gummy is very soft, like a fruit snack, and the serving size wasn’t too large. I felt like I could finish a packet without feeling like I was force-feeding myself.” She found the gummies easy to swallow, rating them a 5 out of 5 on that front.
Sophia also found these gummies pleasant to eat, saying, “I really liked the taste of the Strawberry Burst flavor. There’s also no sugar, 15 organic fruits and vegetables, and no artificial sweeteners, dyes, or additives.
Paige, a member of our testing team, tried the Essential Unflavored Multivitamin and first noticed the packaging, saying, “I think it’s convenient that each vitamin powder is individually wrapped and you don’t have to measure it out yourself.” Additionally, she said, the box is easy to store and convenient for travel.

The instructions say that children four years and older should take one packet at any time of the day, every day, and that it should be added to your food or beverage of choice. “The instructions include multiple steps and recommend that you don’t exceed the suggested dosage, and also recommend speaking to a physician for recommendations for children,” said Paige, noting, “I think the instructions are a little longer than they need to be.” She rated them a 3 out of 5.
As for actually taking the multivitamin, Paige said, “Each serving is in an individually wrapped packet that you can tear open and pour into food or liquid. It’s very small, and the actual powder is white.” Paige mixed the powder with water and said she didn’t taste anything because the powder was, true to the description, unflavored.
For professionals who’ve already had a full day at work and don’t want to face a battle over vitamins, this flavorless option makes it easy to administer to kids. Paige rated it a 5 out of 5 for its easy swallowability, and a 3 out of 5 for taste to indicate it had a neutral flavor.

Paige, a member of our testing team, tried this one as well. She appreciated that, “The bottle has a child lock to prevent kids from opening it, but it would be easy for an adult to open.” The instructions appear on the back of the bottle and say that kids four years and older should take two gummies daily, with or without food. They also say to chew the gummies thoroughly, according to Paige, who rated the instructions a 4 out of 5.

“The gummy is round and looks soft, with a sugary, textured coating,” noted Paige, adding, “The size of the gummies may be large for younger kids, so parents would just have to make sure the kids chew thoroughly.” She rated them a 3 out of 5 for swallowability.
As for the flavor, “The gummies have a sweet, fruity taste,” said Paige. “The outer sugary coating is very crunchy. I did have a little bit of an unpleasant aftertaste and the gummy dissolved into a jelly-like texture that got stuck to my teeth,” she added, rating the flavor a 3 out of 5.
On the upside, however, many kids like a gummy vitamin that almost seems like candy, so some working parents may feel like it’s worth the tradeoff to have an option their kid(s) will actually eat.

Heather Gosnell, M.D., a pediatrician and founder of Eat Plants MD Coach in Phoenix, says, “Most kids who eat a healthy, well-balanced diet don’t need vitamins.
