Looking to make some extra cash by storing your funds untouched in a certificate of deposit (CD) for a few months, or even a few years? Bank of America offers more term options than perhaps just about anyone.

Bank of America’s CD rates may not be among the highest in the country, but there are still several decent options if you want to open an account here. You can also service your account in-branch, which is something you often can’t do with online banks that typically offer the best annual percentage yields (APY). It’s headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has been around for about 240 years. It’s the second-largest bank in the United States as of this writing.

Here’s what to expect when you open a CD with Bank of America. Keep in mind that rates may vary slightly based on your region.

Rates are current as of Feb. 3, 2026, and are subject to change.

Bank of America personal CD rates and products

As one of the bigger financial institutions in the U.S., Bank of America offers a wide variety of CD products—from standard fixed-rate CDs to CDs with promotional APYs. It even offers flexible CDs, individual retirement account (IRA) CDs, and business CDs.

Bank of America CD rates may vary depending on your location. For this post, we used New York area code 10001.

Featured CDs

Bank of America offers several featured CD rates that are much higher than what you’ll find from its typical CDs. These promotional terms range from seven to 37 months.

Fixed term CDs

Bank of America fixed term CD rates

Bank of America’s standard CDs come in a whopping 120 term lengths, giving you lots of flexibility when choosing how long to store your money. You can select as little as one month and as much as 10 years—a boon for anyone with CD laddering in mind. That said, most of these terms offer a less-than-fantastic APY.

Flexible CDs

For a little more freedom when withdrawing money, consider Bank of America’s Flexible CDs. These no-penalty CDs give you opportunities to withdraw portions of your account before maturity without getting dinged with penalties. The only caveats are if you remove your money during the first six days after you open your account or six days after a previous withdrawal.

Bank of America IRA CD rates and products

IRAs typically involve investing in stocks and bonds. For a more comfortable investment with a guaranteed return, a Bank of America IRA CD is a possibility. But what is an IRA CD?

As with traditional CDs, these accounts are Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC)-insured, so you won’t lose your money, and they’re ideal if the stock market is too volatile.

Bank of America’s IRA CDs similarly come in featured, fixed, and flexible options. They also offer familiar terms and APY, same as a standard featured CD. In addition to an early withdrawal penalty for touching your money before maturity, you may also be subject to an additional 10% fee from the IRS if you’re under 59 ½ years old, as IRAs are designed to help you save for retirement.
