Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank expressed his enthusiasm for President Donald Trump on Tuesday, saying his presidency was a “real asset” for Americans.
“To have such a pro-business president is something that is a real asset for the country,” Plank said in an interview on CNBC, Business Insider reports. “People can really grab that opportunity.”
Trump has already made moves toward deregulation, a gesture that many in the business community applaud. Plank additionally lauded Trump’s plans to boost jobs through infrastructure projects, as well as building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. “I’m a big fan of people that operate in the world of ‘publish and iterate’ versus ‘think, think, think, think, think,'” Plank said. “So there’s a lot that I respect there.”
In a statement emailed to TIME on Wednesday morning, a spokesperson for the company referenced the ongoing communication between business leaders and the new administration. “We believe it is important for Under Armour to be a part of that discussion,” the company wrote. “We have teammates from different religions, races, nationalities, genders and sexual orientations; different ages, life experiences and opinions. This is the core of our company.”
