Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO Meg Whitman has hit the campaign trail with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, in his quest for the presidency of the United States.
The former eBay (EBAY) CEO plans to spend a week on the road with Christie as he campaigns in New Hampshire ahead of the state’s Feb. 9 presidential primary, according to a New York Times report.
Christie performed poorly during Monday’s Iowa Caucus and came in tenth place next to Governor Mike Huckabee, who suspended his campaign after the results.

Whitman praised Christie during a kick-off event for the governor’s New Hampshire primary campaign, and said that the country is experiencing a time of “great uncertainty” that requires a leader with experience.
“I lead a very large organization,” said the Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) chief, in a Periscope recording of her talk. “One thing I know is you cannot drop someone into the most complex management and leadership job in the world with no experience.”

In an interview with the New York Times, Whitman contrasted Christie with fellow Republican presidential nominee Carly Fiorina, who was also once CEO of Hewlett Packard, and said Christie’s political career makes him more suitable to be president.
“I have a lot of respect for her, but I think Chris Christie is our best man for the job,” Whitman told the newspaper.

Whitman, herself, is no stranger to politics.
During the last presidential election in 2012, she supported Mitt Romney and helped his campaign with fundraising.
Whitman also ran for governor of California in 2010, but lost to Jerry Brown. She reportedly spent over $140 million to finance her campaign.
