General Motors announced on Monday a recall of approximately 3.2 million vehicles due to a faulty ignition switch, bringing the total number of autos recalled by the company this year to over 20 million.
The cars affected by the ignition issues include the Buick Lacrosse, Chevrolet Impala, Cadillac Deville, Cadillac DTS, Buick Lucerne, Buick Regal LS & GS and Chevy Monte Carlo. Additionally, the company said it would replace the ignition keys on 3.2 million cars manufactured from 2000 to 2014 in the U.S. because the keys may “inadvertently move out of the run position.”
This latest recall comes on the heels of another recall on Friday in which half a million Chevrolet Camaros were found to have ignition problems as well. The company on Monday also raised the expected cost during the second quarter for its various recalls to $700 million.
