Brand Networks, a Boston-based provider of social software solutions and digital marketing services, has agreed to acquire Optimal, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based social media advertising and analytics platform. The deal is valued at $35 million in cash and stock. Brand Networks earlier this year raised $68 million in minority equity funding from AEA Investments, while Optimal had raised around $5 million from firms like Neu Venture Capital, The Social Internet Fund, Siemer Ventures and Signal Ventures (plus $2.5m in debt from SVB). www.brandnetworksinc.com
