Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. has agreed to acquire Gardner Denver (NYSE: GDI), a Wayne, Penn.-based maker of industrial machinery, for approximately $3.9 billion (including the assumption of debt). The deal would provide Gardner Denver stockholders with $76 per share, which represents a 39% premium to where the stock was trading before the company confirmed that it had begun to explore strategic alternatives (10/24/12).
