Brainbees Solutions, an e-commerce platform in India for kids, babycare and maternity care products, has raised $14 million in Series B funding. IDG Ventures India led the round, and was joined by return backer SAIF Partners.

Mnemosyne Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Providence, R.I.-based developer of small molecule drugs to treat neuropsychiatric disorders, has raised $5.4 million in Series A funding. Access BridgeGap Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backer Slater Technology Fund. www.mnemosynepharma.com

Fight my Monster, a UK-based online trading card game for boys, has raised $2.1 million in seed funding led by Greycroft Partners. www.fightmymonster.com

Backplane, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based developer of social communities centered around interests and movements, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding. Sequoia Capital, Greylock Discovery Fund, Battery Ventures, Formation 8, Advance/Newhouse Investment Partnership and Conde Nast were joined by return backers Google Ventures, Founders Fund Angel, Menlo Ventures, SV Angel and i/o Ventures. www.backplane.com
