Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos may unveil the Kindle Fire tomorrow.

* TechCrunch and GDGT report that Amazon (AMZN) and CEO Jeff Bezos will unveil a much-rumored color reading tablet dubbed the Kindle Fire at tomorrow’s company event in New York City. If these reports prove accurate, the Kindle Fire will sport a 7-inch color display and run a customized version of the Android operating system. Even more interesting: it’ll look a lot like the BlackBerry PlayBook because the two tablets share the same designer and design manufacturer. (TechCrunch and gdgt)

* Oracle (ORCL) co-President Mark Hurd gave All Things D his first interview since joining the company last year.

* That mythical Facebook iPad app may launch alongside the iPhone 5 at Apple’s rumored unveiling on October 4. (Mashable)
