Engadget found a PSP Phone running Android. That would make a few shoppers a nice Christmas present.
The Sony PSP Phone has been rumored since the first PSP showed up in 2004. If the product shot Engadget produced this evening is the real deal, it will likely be coming to fruition either right before Christmas or early next year.
According to Engadget, the device sports a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and the screen is in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches. It has PlayStation shoulder buttons and a touchpad in the middle and runs Google’s (GOOG) Android 2.3 Gingerbread. There’s no Memory Stick slot but there is support for microSD cards.
It isn’t immediately clear if this will be a Sony Ericsson product or if it will be solely Sony’s.
The big question: Can Sony (SNE) get it out for the holidays? If Sony can’t deliver, there’s another solution below:
